Anneke Lauwaert's work is usually built around one idea and in situ.:

The themes cross universal and intimate roads and are linked with actuality.
As an artist, Lauwaert uses figurative as well as an abstract visual language.
This varies depending on the research associated with the space where the work will take place.
What drives her in art is an absolute passion for the diversity of materials and the possibilities they offer.
The artist investigates up to (or beyond) the borders of their potential and performs the actions that make the idea performable.
She examines the more traditional materials such as bronze, plaster, clay, cement, wood, but also the more unusual ones such as rubber, neoprene, paper, aluminum.
Video is also addressed as a medium that introduces moves to sculpture who is static by nature.
